So, there was this awful thing that happened in 2021 at Cane Creek Park, NC. A dog got off its leash and just went after a carriage horse named Queen Charlotte, and there was even a family on board. The driver, Amanda Underwood, was super brave and stepped in, but she ended up with a broken foot and head wounds that needed staples. The horse got over 15 bites, and the dog, sadly, had to be put down because of injuries from the horse's kicks. It's crazy how even "friendly" pets can get triggered by big animals because of something called predatory drift. If you have a dog with a really high prey drive, you gotta use super strong leashes and restraints when you're out in public. Because of the attack, they temporarily stopped carriage rides and it really got people talking about the leash laws around there.
