It has taken me this long to gather some ounces of strength to write something, because my heart is heavy. I still cannot believe Mama Kristy is gone! My heart aches. A woman whose compassion, strength, and unwavering dedication touched countless lives across the world. Her loss is deeply felt by all who knew her, and by many who were blessed by her work from afar.
God granted me a rare opportunity to serve alongside Mama Kristy with Kemlong Kids Dental a number of times, and I got a deeper understanding of what true leadership means. Her leadership was never about titles — it was about the heart. She poured herself into communities with humility and grace, always lifting others, always giving more.
Even in the midst of busy outreach days, she carried a warmth that made everyone feel seen. She listened deeply, encouraged freely, and embraced the people around her with a mother’s heart. She chose to celebrate her birthday with the people of Uganda every year. Her presence was a reminder that kindness is a powerful form of leadership.
Today, we mourn a senseless and painful loss.
But we also honour a life that radiated purpose.
My thoughts and prayers go out to Pastor John, the children, grandchildren, the entire David’s KidZ family, and all who loved Mama Kristy. May you find comfort in knowing that her legacy lives on — in the children she championed, the communities she uplifted, and the countless hearts she inspired. @KemlongKids and I will always see and remember your light.
