Big mistake. The knew what would end the war but refused to do it. If they stopped advocating for Ukraine to join NATO, the war would not have started. The US defended itself when Russia was to add missiles to Cuba. Russia is doing the same thing with the threat of Ukraine joining NATO

@FreeSpchFreeMnd @atrupar I think you really have an education problem. It was US who advocated for Ukraine and Georgia to join NATO. Initially France and Germany tried to disuade Bush, but as always the rest of NATO had to follow. Business as usual.

But how do you get there, feasibly that is? I agree that Russia should vacate, they should even have consequences for their actions post that. But I don’t see an off ramp here that has all of that, unless you want to escalate this by other countries joining. Even then I feel Russia would resort to nuclear war if the end was near for them. They do not want a NATO ally on their border, specifically one that occupies territory they believe to rightfully belong to them.

I just think it’s silly to make dumb generalizations and to define or blame millions of people for something they didn’t do or are powerless to change. @J_Mig_C @visegrad24 Turnout was 83,5%, I do not know where you got it was 52%. Obviously it is less people than in US, but I guess US also has more polling stations and counting teams. Even if you just compare it to Florida, the system still works better in Germany.

@visegrad24 You must be selectively dumb. Germany has 52 million eligible voter. Turnout was 52% per AA. That means 27 million people voted. The whole country had a voting population roughly the size of Florida. Only paper ballots are used, but they do not have signature, or envelope reqs.

Europe and Canada should strengthen their relations. Canada shares Europe's values and ideas, as a large, reliable and stable North American country it has great potential if it joins forces with Europe. This could become a great partnership.

The United States appears to be in violation of the Budapest Memorandum which disarmed Ukraine of nuclear weapons in exchange for security guarantees. The agreement signed by the US in 1994 specifically prohibits economic coercion against Ukraine.
