@mayorde4you2 @sadjere70849 You don't even understand the purpose of those gifts, your mother in-law goes home and shares it among her friends, to also rejoice and thank God for the wonderful thing God did for her daughter and her husband.

@sadjere70849 Yes it’s cultural and tradition. But it still has a lot to do with the individual. Some women will appreciate what ever that was gifted to them, but most will not.

Your wife just delivered, her mother, your mother in law is expected to come for her omugwo. During this period of 2-3months, you are responsible for her feeding, clothing, and shelter. When she is about to leave your house, back to her husband’s house, she and her daughter are expecting you to buy her a lot of gifts and foodstuffs! Why all those gifts?

@kabir_Rx @Sadeeyarh01 Pls, does being first wife means an automatic pass to heaven? Because, I usually hear "after all, she is the first wife". Is that like a consolation thing?

Polygamy will run you mad😭🤣 My aunt is the first wife and lives in Abuja. She’s over 55 oh 😭. The second wife lives in Lagos. The husband works and stays in Abuja, then travels to Lagos to see the other wife. One time, the second wife came to Abuja because oga hadn’t been to Lagos in a while because of work. 😭🤣 This man picked her up from the airport, took her to an apartment, came back home, packed his luggage and left. My aunt was just pacing around the house and hissing 😭🤣. She didn’t speak to anybody for almost a week. She was ANGRY. Turns out jealousy doesn’t retire at 50 😭

So this Lugbe girl went on a date with an Abuja guy she met on TikTok. During the outing, he suggested she come home with him afterwards for “Netflix and chill,” but she politely declined, explaining that it was their first time meeting and she wasn’t comfortable with that.

I have this neighbor that doesn’t greet Him,his wife and his wife sister that lives with them, they never greets And if you greet them, they hardly respond So I stopped greeting any of them too and everyone lives their life quietly We’ve been living together in this compound for about two years now Now,my landlady informed me that the wife gave birth few days ago I saw the husband that same day and he didn’t greet nor tell me anything I have seen him a couple of times afterwards too but I haven’t seen the wife around yet Now,my question is should I keep doing my thing and not greet him about the new baby and if they do naming in the compound next week,do I attend or ignore like I don’t know what’s happening

A strange thing is happening in Nigeria. A young man spends 20 years climbing the educational ladder. 6 years in primary school. 6 years in secondary school. 4 to 6 years in university. 1 year of NYSC. By the time he is done, he has invested roughly 6,500 to 7,000 days preparing for life. Then life arrives and asks a simple question: “What problem can you solve?” Silence. Not because he is unintelligent. Not because he is lazy. But because somewhere along the journey, we confused education with certification. We taught people how to pass exams, not how to create value. Think about it. An electrician who never attended university can walk into a building worth N500 million and confidently power every room from the foundation to the penthouse. A graduate with multiple certificates may stand beside him unable to identify which wire powers the building. One has credentials. The other has capability. The market pays for capability. That is why reality often delivers a rude mathematical lesson. If a graduate earns N100,000 monthly, that is N1.2 million annually. A skilled technician charging N40,000 per job and handling just two jobs weekly earns over N4 million yearly. Same country. Different skills. Different outcomes. The tragedy is not that one earns more than the other. The tragedy is that we keep preparing millions of young people for a race that no longer exists. We celebrate admission lists like victory trophies. We celebrate graduation photos like guaranteed employment letters. Then we act surprised when hundreds of applicants compete for one vacancy. Imagine 1,000 people chasing 10 jobs. Basic mathematics says 990 people will be disappointed. No motivational speaker can negotiate with arithmetic. Yet we continue producing graduates faster than we produce opportunities. That is like manufacturing keys without building doors. The painful irony? The people we once looked down on are increasingly becoming the people we depend on.

Many of you want great relationships but all you want to do is take. There’s nothing great that comes out of always taking. Even friendships but you want life long partners while being a leach. If you like stay online and let people deceive you that you are some sort of prize that no one can get tired of.

A week ago, my neighbor’s husband traveled to China for a business trip, leaving her to care for their newborn twins. Yesterday while she was cleaning their bedroom, she found his passport. Apparently, when she confronted him, she found out that he was staying with his friend in another estate because the babies cry a lot at night.

My neighbour's children had been home for a month. I asked their mum why. She said, "Money matter." "How much is the school fees?" I asked. "₦16,000 each. Three children." I sent ₦50,000 immediately. A few days later, the husband noticed the children had resumed school and asked his wife how. She told him I paid the fees. The man said, "Since she has taken over my responsibility, she should continue o." Omor, since that day, this man has been giving me attitude everywhere he sees me. Wife say make I give him the attitude back. 🧐

Dear Nigerians, 10 months ago, I came here to seek for your plea in getting back Baby Ayoka who was trafficked from Libya to Italy. While her mother went to work, Ayoka was trafficked and moved to Italy via the deadly sea that could have led to something more tragic. With your help, reshare and call outs. The Italian government and she was taken to a shelter. Ayoka has been there since growing like an orphan with Father or Mother's care. These few months has really traumatized us as she's barely living. This is unfair on both the mother and the child, we have tried everything possible from multiple visits to the embassy and IOM to sending all required documents from Nigeria to Libya also and we haven't gotten any help that can reunite the mother and child. Ayoka’s mom and I decided she should come back home to Nigeria while we start afresh again, I have completed money for her return even though it required me emptying my account, her TC is out already and she's expected to be home soonest. I will officially launch a campaign to bring back Ayoka home. No mother and child deserves this. When this campaign starts, I plead with you to please support me, to please help bring back Ayoka home, refer us, help us tag the appropriate body and do not let Ayoka grow like an orphan in another's man land. She doesnt deserve this, no child does. To ©Yakubu Oyiza
