K-9 OFFICER LEO RETIREMENT CELEBRATION TODAY K9 Leo’s retirement is today from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the upper community room at Crystal City Hall. Residents are encouraged to stop by to thank Leo and Officer Selin for their service.

Save the date - K9 Officer Leo is retiring. Open House is Dec 30th from 430-6pm at City Hall.

After the diligent work of CPD investigators, with only grainy surveillance video, an investigator recognized the striking vehicle driving in town and identified the suspect. Rudy Ernesto Boza Arelano 1/14/1991 admitted to investigators that he struck the building and fled.

Some may remember our ask for community help in November 2024 when a driver crashed into Bella's Cafe in the 3500 block of Douglas Dr, causing over $56,000 in damage and additional lost business during repairs. The driver then fled the scene. ** Thread in Comments*

Arelano was arrested for felony criminal damage to property and is currently in custody at the Hennepin Jail. The case has been submitted to the Hennepin County Attorney and is awaiting a charging decision. We are proud of our staff for continuing to seek justice in this case.

Crystal police officers are supporting one of their colleagues who was recently diagnosed with cancer. @CrystalMNPolice are now wearing pink patches on their uniforms as a show of support. ccxmedia.org/news/crystal-p…

The Crystal Police Association is selling small pink patches to anyone who would like to support Officer Romo’s fight with breast cancer and have a commemorative piece of CPD. Patches are available at the front desk of the PD for $10 and all proceeds will go towards Off. Romo.
