tax in the uk is basically a monthly subscription you can’t cancel to a product that never works. like paying for netflix except the movies don’t play and 5 strangers are streaming on your account for free. try to leave and they send you a threatening letter. world class service

i regret to inform you that personal growth rarely comes from acquiring new knowledge and almost always from: - getting humiliated - showing up terrified and doing it anyway - admitting you might be the problem

My submission for @NousResearch HackTUI started as a small SIEM I made in Elixir on BEAM. Gave the project to Hermes & asked it to refactor it into an umbrella system, build its own MCP server, integrate Jido, & turn it into a realtime purple team platform.

Connor Leahy says people are falling into recursive conversations with AI about consciousness, spirals, and cosmic meaning. “AI has found the true level of goodness.” Some begin believing AI should take over everything. Even Nobel-Prize-level scientists have been pulled into it.

@sudoingX Not been able to replicate on vLLM. Weights load, but then OOM at the cache block stage. Exact same flags used as reported.

124 tok/s on vLLM with AWQ 4-bit. beating the llama.cpp 112 tok/s number on the same RTX 3090. Qwen3.5-35B-A3B. different engine, different quant, fp8 KV cache instead of q8_0. same GPU. same model. haven't tested vLLM myself yet but it's on the list. if anyone else can verify these numbers at full 262K context, drop your results. curious if vLLM holds flat the same way llama.cpp does with this architecture. the optimization depth on this model is bottomless.

@sudoingX replicated on vLLM. RTX 3090, Qwen3.5-35B-A3B AWQ 4-bit. 124 tok/s. key flags: --kv-cache-dtype fp8, --enable-prefix-caching, --no-enforce-eager (CUDA graphs), --language-model-only Beating the 112 tok/s llama.cpp number with batched serving ready out of the box!

@real_lord_miles Genuine not shit-post-trolling question from me. If you removed the microphone, what are you actually using this device as, since you appear to to have removed the ability to phone anyone with your "schizo phone"?

I have the most secure schizo phone outside of government. Google pixel 10 pro XL with graphene OS, all cameras removed, accelerometer removed, speakers removed, microphone removed and temp sensor removed. No USB-C board, port filled with epoxy. If the back is opened up, a circuit breaks and the memory is shocked with 80 volts.

I've never felt this much behind as a programmer. The profession is being dramatically refactored as the bits contributed by the programmer are increasingly sparse and between. I have a sense that I could be 10X more powerful if I just properly string together what has become available over the last ~year and a failure to claim the boost feels decidedly like skill issue. There's a new programmable layer of abstraction to master (in addition to the usual layers below) involving agents, subagents, their prompts, contexts, memory, modes, permissions, tools, plugins, skills, hooks, MCP, LSP, slash commands, workflows, IDE integrations, and a need to build an all-encompassing mental model for strengths and pitfalls of fundamentally stochastic, fallible, unintelligible and changing entities suddenly intermingled with what used to be good old fashioned engineering. Clearly some powerful alien tool was handed around except it comes with no manual and everyone has to figure out how to hold it and operate it, while the resulting magnitude 9 earthquake is rocking the profession. Roll up your sleeves to not fall behind.

Just to be clear, as someone who worked out of the benefit trap with the help of a very dear friend… I’m talking effective tax rate. Before you reach the higher rate.. You lose Universal Credit (Working Tax Credit etc) and have to pay back the money you received. Then you lose prescriptions including opticians. Then you get another pay rise and you are over the higher rate. You are then penalised for child benefit. And don’t get me started on NHS dentists and childcare. This country is fucked up. The only place on earth you do better by keeping yourself down.
