The problem with L1 largeblocks, was: they increased the cost of running a full node.
But, ultimately, it turns out that a Lightning node is the most expensive node of them all.

@abrkn @sideshiftai I noticed this trend in many companies I work with. Even payment processors that support multiple blockchains, can easily run Solana (although $$$) but have hard time managing an LN node, not only from a technical point of view, but especially economical one.

@GrassFedBitcoin it's now 3040 and all knots+bip110. full disclosure coming soon including details on how to replicate ($2k/mo in cost). this is not an attack, this has been a 2 year project to prove a vulnerability in how nodes communicate. core acknowledged it last year.

Node count ≠ independent support. Data from my Bitcoin crawler shows that of 3,312 “good” (listening + connectable) BIP110 nodes, 3,058 are concentrated within just 12 /16 IP ranges (~255 per range), suggesting possible single-operator control. Excluding them leaves 254 (listening + connectable) BIP110 nodes. @CubistRoy @BlueDavid The fake nodes were created by a third party having nothing to do with BIP-110. I am unsure as to his motives, but I do not condone the creation of fake BIP-110 nodes. It hurts us more than helps.

@SuperTestnet Nobody is taking knots or bip110 seriously since it was proven they faked their nodes. It's hard to think of something more damaging that faking your node count, but here we are. Good riddance to the fakes.
