"I don't know what it means to say men & women are equal in value when men have all the authority and the power & when women are called to a role of supporting men. This is not equality in any sense. It is instead a hierarchy, which women are to like because the men do." McKnight

@garonnevik Similar to my view in central Illinois. "The Soy City" is surrounded by corn and soybean fields.

@LShalott With regular melatonin, I get about 5 deep hours of sleep. I'll look in to the extended release kind. Thanks!

Hey, did you know that there’s such a thing as extended release melatonin? If melatonin helps you get to sleep but not stay asleep, it might be worth a try. It’s helpful to me sometimes, and I’ve failed like nine prescription sleep aids. I use Nature Made 4 mg from Amazon.

What’s a book you own (or owned) and are embarrassed by because it does not reflect the person you’ve grown to become?

@emilykmay It doesn't help that "gram" is in the word and that the numbers symbol reminds me of a pentagram. I'm an 8w9, and learning about the enneagram changed our whole family.

whenever i try to explain the enneagram to someone who knows nothing about it, i always feel like i am (badly) explaining astrology except i do not understand astrology even a little bit.

@TheSassyBirdie Yes. I read that one, too. I appreciated how the author brought us through the struggles and let us see the contributing factors.

I just finished Demon Copperhead. I love pain and suffering books with redemptive endings. Somehow though, watching him walk through all the gritty, painful details of his life was a lot more difficult than seeing suffering from a farther off view. I learned a lot.

@Shleigh55 @Andy35o Similar here. He's read so many books I've recommended and has now told others he's egalitarian. He's taken the time to research scripture and pray through questions. @MargMowczko has been a huge resource that has helped us both!

@Andy35o I have never respected my husband more than after I read the Making of Biblical Womanhood, handed it to him, and then he started reconsidering his own views.

This is so backwards and bizarre. When I write a new article or book, Jason reads it and tells me what he learned, found interesting, and his questions, ideas, and feedback. Likewise I learn from him. It’s never a competition. Knowledge - especially knowledge of God - isn’t first for men and then women, or first for husbands and then wives. It is for all of us and we all learn from one another. I hope Joel analyses and reconsiders his weirdly controlling and insecure behavior and starts letting his wife read books and think thoughts he hasn’t yet, because 👀

@JennMGreenberg This video is insane. He's threatened by a fellow believer's quest for knowledge and wisdom? He owns/controls his wife? Gross.

It took me a while to discern what I wanted to give me heart to after When Narcissism Comes to Church. It’s May and this isn’t out until October, but what the heck - let’s start with the cover! This is how we heal. Can’t wait to share it with you.

@emilykmay When I was in high school (in the late 80s), I had 1st hour PE. When we had swimming, I would sit in my 2nd hour algebra class and french braid my hair. Made my arms super tired. And now, having had 4 daughters, let's just say doing that braid on someone else is so much easier!
