On this day in 1969, patrons of the Stonewall Inn, a New York City gay bar, fought back against frequent police raids of LGBTQ+ establishments. The ensuing Stonewall Riots helped pave the way for LGBTQ+ liberation and equality, a fight that continues today.

Happy Juneteenth, one and all! Today marks the date in 1865 when the news of emancipation reached the last remaining enslaved people at the end of the Civil War. DCDD is committed to uplifting the voices of our Black siblings in their ongoing fight for social justice.

This Father’s Day, we would also like to hold space for those in the LGBTQ+ community who have difficult or nonexistent relationships with their fathers. We see you, and we love you.

Eight years ago today, 49 people were killed and 53 injured in a mass shooting at Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida. We remember those lost and whose lives were forever changed, and strive for a world in which hate will never win.
