Commissioner Carl Bentzel of the @FMC_gov and the @DCSA_org have collaborated to discuss and establish maritime data standards in the US and globally. This collaboration is part of Commissioner Bentzel's Maritime Transportation Data Initiative (MTDI), which aims to address the inefficiencies and high costs in global maritime supply chains. The DCSA, comprised of major container shipping lines, supports the initiative, emphasising the need for improved data exchange and standardised information in the maritime transportation sector. The final recommendations of the MTDI will be published soon, allowing stakeholders to provide input for an efficient and economic transportation system.
