actually chris and theo's relationship has the potential to be very important for both of them. chris clearly can't keep up with theo and theo is gonna want to play with his older brother because chris will look like the coolest boy ever to him :( they'll find a middle ground :(

it's fictionnn yes everything sends a message yes its the second biggest drama on air on abc right now yes that means something but there is a BIG DIFFERENCE between analysing the narrative choices in universe and demanding the writers abide to your perfect morale

@buckbuckg0ose - with two moms who wakes up one day and decides he needs to talk with this guy he hasn't seen in years behind his mothers' back. it felt mean spirited and a little unnecessary

@buckbuckg0ose - his bio dad feels pointed in particular BECAUSE they never end up going anywhere with it. never make much of a point besides "the kid wants someone to play baseball with". there was no build up no conclusion, denny doesn't even have other stories for himself. just a kid -

it’s not homophobic for a kid to be interested in his bio parents. that’s just a common experience for adopted kids, and the benefits of adopted kids having a relationship with their bio parents is actually supported by research.

denny's storyline in s6 was ASS because they dared to imply denny was missing something by not having a relationship with his father, that's what made it homophobic and weird. you are all acting like 911 is going toward bioessantialism when chim explained that's not the POINT

@zorabet_ well i guess?? i mean, in real life sure, but i don't remember denny's storyline being treated that way, mosly because denny is not really a character that stands on hus own and it never led anywhere substantial. in a narrative lense, it was a very bold and awkward move

@DISCODIAZ That it’s very very common for children with a separate biological parent from their social parents to want a connection. It doesn’t invalidate their social parents. But it’s the vast majority of kids in that scenario and it’s normal and healthy.

im sseeing so much discourse over this in the tl but how is buck adopting a difficult orphaned toddler the same as denny, a pre-teen with two healthy lesbian parents, suddenly deciding he needs to meet his bio dad... why are you comparing the two scenarios.....
