They absolutely didn't have Israel in mind when they made it, it's just Israel went evil nuts so the audience connects them.

The funniest thing abt 'Superman' is how Gunn accidentally created *one* of the most powerful version of Superman while trying to create an underpowered Superman lol

Man of Steel 2 would have made way more money than Gunn's Superman considering the amount of fanbase Henry's Superman has garnered over since last decade.

The year is 2056. A new Superman reboot movie has just come out. But nerds on Twitter are still talking about a movie from 2013.

@nothereasof2022 @DahiyaKnight Devil's advocate, It had to deal with Civil War being right around the corner and everybody was obsessing over it.

@DahiyaKnight Batman v Superman didn't even get to $900 million and it starred the two biggest most famous superheroes in all of history, in a decade when comic book movies were regularly clearing a billion (including other movies based on DC comics, and even other movies in the DCEU).

@uzuukiedes25151 @VexedVortices @VautismSpeaks Maybe not, but the Billion Dollars Every Movie thing took a decade to build. And they also get to learn from Marvel's mistakes - some of those made by Gunn himself. And anyway, in the meantime I'm going to have fun rooting for them.

So deserved, probably my favorite superman film and maybe even superhero film ever
