The annual “Game Against the Seniors” basketball game hosted by Deer Park Special Olympics is scheduled for Wednesday, March 18, at Watkins Gym, which is located at @DPISD_South. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the game will start at 6 p.m.! This event is open to the public.

LIMITED OPEN ENROLLMENT IS NOW OPEN! DPISD is once again offering its successful Limited Open Enrollment program, which allows non-resident students from neighboring areas to apply for enrollment in the District. Details: dpisd.org/loe and dpisd.org/steam

Congratulations to Deer Park ISD’s principals of the year! Heather Dobson was named Elementary Principal of the Year and Amy Russell was named Secondary Principal of the Year. Dobson is principal at @DPISD_DPE, and Russell is principal of @DPISD_FJH .

Join us on Feb. 28 at Dow Park for arts, crafts, face painting, balloon animals and more. Be inspired by DPHS art students as they create chalk art masterpieces in real time. This event is for all ages and is free to the public, so please bring the whole family!

They will also be recognized as a group during halftime! We love our senior citizens!

DPISD is honoring our senior citizens at two upcoming athletics events. Senior Citizens night is scheduled for the @dpisd_south Girls Basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 10, and the Boys Basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Both games begin at 7 p.m. at Watkins Gym.

Senior Citizens are encouraged to check in at the ticket table to pick up their Golden Antler card, which is good for free general admission to all high school athletic events. Golden Antler card holders will get access to free reserved seating and free popcorn and bottled water.

The weather forecast for this weekend includes rain and freezing temperatures on Saturday evening and Sunday. DPISD will continue to monitor the forecast and over the next several days. We will make a decision about Monday’s school schedule by 4 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
