@forked_franz @tivrfoa The design is very much about AOT & JIT: pick both. AOT is good for fast startup and warmup while JIT let's you adapt to changes in app behaviour or environment. By using both, we can always deopt and recompile if needed

@tivrfoa @DanHeidinga it won't work to disable tiered compilation and just enable C1 despite using AOT? I suppose not...?

Ahead of Time Computation - Inside Java @DanHeidinga youtube.com/watch?v=vyJNUH… It would be interesting to compare disabling JIT after you already optimized with Leyden AOT cache, so no JIT overhead after that. I don't know how Leyden and "java -Djava.compiler=NONE" interact.
