Neo Mecha Sonic design

Original concept designs for Tangle in IDW's Sonic comics. Originally pitched as a Rabbit using her ears, similar to an early concept for Sonic himself, she was switched to a Lemur to be a more unique animal.

I adore how Tangle is now but damn her concept looks is also bloody fantastic!

Per my own version of events: The Diamond Cutters weren't Mercenaries. They were an elite GUN espionage unit. After Mimic's betrayal of them to Eggman and Whisper subsequently being the only survivor, she was deemed too psychologically damaged to continue and was honorably discharged from GUN's military branch. Whisper afterward gathered her old comrades' gear and set off to hunt down Mimic and kill him. Mimic had been with the group for about a year. He had taught Whisper all she knew about fighting with Combat knives. Whisper had previously been brought into the group at a considerably young age, especially for an operative. Smithy was like a father to her, and she even began to develop feelings for her teammate Slinger, who was already something of a casanova. Since she took her teammates' gear and went rogue, Abraham Tower has since launched an unofficial search for her, feeling responsible despite having discharged her. On the official side of things, there is an ongoing manhunt for the traitor Mimic. Whisper keeps up with it through informants and wiretapping in case they find anything. But perhaps Tower can use that to his advantage to bring her in?
