I had a guy who lent me ₦20k one time, and I promised to pay back. But during the period I was owing him, he took me out to eat on about five different occasions, and each time he spent at least ₦5k. At some point, when my phone had issues and I wanted to change it, he even added ₦30k to what I had. Plus other countless favours here and there. It got to a point where even after I had the ₦20k to pay him back, I didn’t even know how to bring it up again, because he had already spent way more than that on me. It felt like the debt didn’t even make sense anymore. Eventually, he asked for the ₦20k, and I paid him back. But it left me confused.
