I just saw the texts from Michael Proctor that Howie Carr released. Stunned by how awful they were. That includes Sgt. Goode of CPD. I worked with and hung around with a lot of cops in Worcester when I owned a bar there. I saw a lot of locker room humor, "cop talk". But these texts don't resemble anything I ever saw with those guys. Not even ballpark. The racist and antisemitic nature of these texts is appalling and indefensible. The damage done to the image of law enforcement in the region is incalculable.
None of these texts show corruption, however. None show planting evidence in any case, let alone #KarenRead. The fundamental truth in the case remains: she is guilty beyond any doubt simply based on evidence the defense presented no expert to dispute. If she wants to take me to court for that, let's go. I'd be happy to present the evidence to a jury...and I won't lose.
