I tried something new this week Took a mini fold-up camping stool into work overnight in the Emergency department so I could sit down with patients when I take a history. Game Changer. Seriously felt like it improved the quality of interactions

Pilot: We apologise, unfortunately the water was left in the aircraft tanks overnight and as a result has frozen. Sadly this means there will be no tea or coffee for the first half of the flight. There will also be difficulty in flushing the toilet or washing hands

@Imi_cycles It’s contextual. Pav by its pure self (meringue) I can pass, but layer it with a health amount of whipped cream (with vanilla) and entirely too much fruit and it’s another story.

@mmamas1973 Person centred language, not disease centred language. Choices matter.

I've just had a review back for one of my group's papers in which the reviewer asks that "patients with CVD" is changed to "CVD patients" throughout. In my view patients shouldn't be defined by their disease- they are not 'CVD patients' Furthermore pts are multimorbid and so it would be incorrect to call them CVD patients as they are likely to have other conditions that are more prognostic/ impactful to their wellbeing than CVD. Rant over 😂 is this a bug bear for anyone else?

@AaronTuNZ Police only required to secure the property after the fact, but like others have said we are not usually equipped to force entry (unless you love online shopping for tactical pens…)

Question for the prehospital masses. If you need to gain entry to a property does your service routinely require police to be present? We do not require it yet most crews will not progress without.

@ParameDocUK @cliffreid In some instances, there may be a single clinician/person working on a transport ambulance, if this is the case, the vehicle *ideally* shouldn’t be used to transport patients.

@ParameDocUK @cliffreid Transport Ambulance = ambulance with capacity to transport a stretchered patient Non-Transport Ambulance = crewed by a clinician with supervisory, clinical, rapid responders responsibilities, but does not have capacity to transport stretchered patients.

Sending two clinicians in a transport ambulance to every EMS call is a ridiculous squandering of an overstretched resource and makes no sense whatsoever
