Yes, I absolutely should have put the suit carrier on the train shelf but I have form in this regard (July 2023, the night before a hearing). Commuters making their displeasure felt. Should have just posted this on LinkedIn and told you about my coffee with a bundle of hashtags.

I’m not saying this is a tradition but thank goodness I just checked my outbound travel from Euston for Friday - it’s 9.13am not 9.29am as I thought. That’s one less vaguely amusing catastrophe I’ve saved you reading tomorrow. #ResConf24

@Davvers Funnily I have a similar view but about Poor Things! I mostly enjoyed it while watching it and thought parts were beautiful but the further I get away from it the more I don’t like it!! I do see your point about Maestro, though. Maybe because the characters aren’t loveable?

@itsalawyerslife It’s strange, the further I get from Maestro, the more it seems to leave me cold aside from the obvious acting achievement and I can’t put my finger on it. Loved Poor Things, just imagination in every frame. Ruffalo should be more in the conversation too.

@Davvers I’m fine with Emma Stone winning. It’s a fearless performance. It’s the film I’m ambivalent about. Bradley Cooper did a tremendous job as both director and actor in Maestro. Gosling didn’t get the nomination here, but he may well do at the Oscars

@RhysTaylor32 Oh that’s beautiful (and I note the keypad - if I was betting man, I’d have definitely said Rhys would have to have one)! I got a lot of upgrade envy writing the article as my K3 feels positively Victorian now!

The usual incisive content plus a tech article/avant-garde performance piece from me as well. I cannot recommend writing for the FRJ enough, the editorial support is really something (though if I’d known it was going to be such a big edition I might have dialled it back…)

@topfamilylawyer Superb. I got a Rega turntable for Christmas, and am spending a lot of time trying to come up with a list of essential records (I only have one at the time of writing but it’s early days and so much is not available anymore).

Off to buy my first deck for years so I can revisit the vinyl collection! Have to choose a couple of albums to take along for the demo of the options. Thought these would provide a diverse test!

I’m not going to lie, I only glanced at the front cover of the Nov/Dec Review and thought the @ResFamilyLaw ‘Anime’ project guaranteed a leading practitioner revisiting Akira across 1,500 words.
