I believe that bickering over the nuances of faith and religion detracts from the core of spirituality. Instead of focusing on who worships God "the right way," we should prioritize what truly matters: living a principled, compassionate life.
As the Bible says, "By your fruits ye shall know them" (Matthew 7:20). Obsessing over semantics can overshadow the grace and love offered by Christ or the divine spirit, however you understand it.
We should strive to avoid judgment. God is the judge, not us. Every time we choose not to take offense, we weaken the forces of discord, whether you call that Satan or something else.
The doctrine of Christ is simple, yet human interpretations of scriptures like the Old Testament, New Testament, or Book of Mormon have led to thousands of sects of religion.
This complexity often confuses and divides rather than unites.
As a faithful member of the Church of latter-day saints, I’m grateful for continuing revelation through a living prophet, which provides a unified path to come unto God. At the same time, I recognize elements of truth and light in all religions.
I’m not sitting on the fence—I believe God is just and merciful, ensuring everyone has a chance to accept Him, whether in this life or the next. You don’t have to share this view, but I hold it dearly.
If you strive to live a good, principle-based life, that’s what counts. If the spirit prompts you to explore further truths, even better. Let’s focus on following God as we understand Him, trusting His judgment, giving grace and accepting his Grace. That’s the path to a fulfilling life, regardless of the faith you follow.
