These youths have been leading from the front in the construction of a clinic in Matobo's Ward 7. They say it's time the community has its own health centre to reduce the distance travelled by villagers to access health services. The CHAMPIONS are rallying more youth to join them

Another sad development for African football. How about protecting the dignity of the institution and the legitimacy of the outcome. Yoh

Me, Mine, I cannot be used for such an important subject.
Tawanda Nyambirai@tawandan1

After my recent opinion on Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3, many have speculated about my attitude toward President E.D. Mnangagwa. Some have labeled me as they wish. My position, however, has never changed — I have supported President Mnangagwa from before he became President until now. And I will continue to support him. I have a strong bias in favour of President Mnangagwa. I say so openly and without apology. It is rooted in personal experience. As a young lawyer in my twenties at Kantor & Immerman, I was appointed to the board of the National Empowerment Corporation. I was the youngest member. Our Chairman was James Mushore. Fellow board members included Godfrey Gomwe, Greg Brackenridge, Shingi Mutasa, Rachel Kupara, Gedion Gono, Freeman Kembo, Mario Dos Remedios and others of significant stature. We reported to the Indigenisation Committee chaired by then Minister Emmerson Mnangagwa. At one meeting, I was attacked over petty and false allegations that arose from Kantor & Immerman — that I was some sort of “uncle Tom.” Because I had been allocated computers ahead of others. Many remained silent in the presence of the powerful committee members. But Chairman Mushore stood by me. President Mnangagwa immediately shut the matter down. He reminded the room that we were there to discuss policy, not gossip from a law firm. He was firm. Decisive. Focused. Fair. On another occasion, I held a legal view he did not agree with. While I was in London working on a corporate finance transaction, colleagues called to say I was “in trouble.” When I returned, I found a letter from him — then Minister of Justice. He reminded me that as the legal person on the board, my duty was not merely to identify problems but to find solutions. That lesson has stayed with me for decades. When I represented Strive alongside Anthony Eastwood in his fight for a license, we needed ministerial approval to bring senior counsel Wim Trengove. We were blocked. Beatrice Mtetwa secured a meeting with Minister Mnangagwa through the Permanent Secretary, Yunus Omarjee. The meeting lasted less than five minutes. He stated clearly that Strive was entitled to counsel of his choice. He signed the necessary certificates immediately and handed me every copy — including the Ministry’s file copies — instructing me to return them once the judgment was registered. Only later did I understand the wisdom of that act. Had the papers remained within the system, the registration could have been frustrated before I even returned to my office. In 2002, when my farms were taken, the late Vice President Msika told me plainly: “The only person who can resolve this is Emmerson.” Through a friend, I met him. In a brief meeting, he advised me to vacate and wait. I did. I waited nearly twenty years. Today, my farms are back. President Mnangagwa has been consistent with me. Firm. Decisive. Fair. At times feared, yes — but predictable in his reasoning and clear in his direction. So when people question my stance, understand this: my support is not blind. It is informed by lived experience. You may label me as you wish. I do not repay good with ingratitude. I stand where I stand because of what I have personally known. May God show him the same fairness and kindness he has shown me.

For all that President Mugabe was it's very sad to see what is happening with his sons. Zvakaoma zvinoita kuzvara; a total opposite of their father. Mugabe must be turning in his grave as Bellarmine has been arrested for allegedly shooting someone in South Africa.

*CCC PARTY PARLIAMENTARY CAUCUS RESOLUTIONS* 12.FEBRUARY.2026 *PHYSICAL ATTENDANCE:* 63 MPS *APOLOGIES*: 7MPS *TOTAL:* 70MPS Resolutions of the Citizens Coalition for Change Party Parliamentary Caucus meeting held on the 12th of February, 2026 in Harare On Tuesday 10 February 2026, the President of the Republic Zimbabwe Cde E.D. Mnangagwa convened the first Cabinet meeting of 2026. Among other issues, Cabinet resolved to initiate far reaching Amendments to the Constitution as contained in Constitutional Amendment No. 3 Bill, 2026. Of particular significance is the clause which seeks to alter the life of Parliament, term of office of the Head of State and Government as well as the management of our elections in general. Following this momentous decision which has significant implications for Zimbabwe’s constitutional democracy and recognizing and accepting that our people, and our people alone are the makers of history and that nothing can be done, said or implemented without their full and informed consent, the Citizens Coalition for Change convened an urgent meeting of its Party Parliamentary Caucuscand Local and resolved as follows: 1. While we await the full and final text of the Bill, in principle, we support the spirit, intent and motivation of the Bill. The Bill correctly captures changes which are necessary for the building of national consensus amongst our people, healing divisions of the past, and establishing a basis for permanent political, invariably, economic stability for our country. 2. Electoral reforms contemplated in the Bill are a welcome step in the right direction. They, at least in part, address institutional and legitimacy issues which have perennially affected our electoral democracy. 3. With the significant amendments to the election of the President and Head of State of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and the executive authority of government, this political transitional process ought to be buttressed by the consumption of a Government of National Consensus. Deliberate effort should be made to include all sectors of society, fron the church, youth, business and women organisations. Further, this government will and should have the historical mandate to unite our people, building a spirit of nationhood and belonging. 4. Each and every Member of Parliament is instructed to go to their respective constituency to, through the respective Councilors, convene meetings in every ward and explain Constitutional Amendment Bill 3 of 2026. 5. Each and every member of Parliament, in conjunction with the local councilors and the respective Senators, should gather the free and voluntary opinions, views and sentiments of all citizens of our country in their respective constituencies. 6. Members from Senate must work with members from the National Assembly in different provinces to implement resolution 1 and 2. 7. The Interim Secretary General is instructed and mandated to, immediately, convene a meeting of the Local Government Caucus which meeting, in form and substance, shall mirror this Party Parliamentary Caucus meeting. 8. Members of Parliament, and councillors are to provide written reports of the outcome of their engagement and consultation with their constituencies to the office of the Interim Secretary General by no later than 1 March 2026. 9. In the implementation of the resolutions of this meeting, all members are to exercise maximum discipline, patience in explaining any aspect relevant to the bill, tolerant to different and divergent views, while at all times fostering a spirit of nationhood and national consensus. In conclusion all CCC PARTY MPS are raring to go. No amount of negativity from our erstwhile nemesis can stop the People's Parliamentary representatives from diligently exercising their mandate. Listening to what happened to Coach Senong on his failed move to @HighlanderBosso was painful and embarrassing but I wouldn't say we didn't see it coming because this country doesn't stop embarassing us anyway. The smallest chance she gets, Zimbabwe will always strike and not miss embarrassing us. After signing a 2 year contract as Head Coach, Coach Senong was offered roles as assistant coach or Sporting Director which he calmly rejected and awaits contract termination, because someone wanted Benjani 😑 On his 27 minutes long interview, Senong mentions Highlanders countless times and how the club was unprofessional and insincere. First contact made in November, Signed early January but still lost the job without even taking over one training session in the same January! Literally left his bags in Zim! With all due respect to Benjani, I feel he is not ready for that job compared to Senong whom the club had chosen. If Benjani was that good the club wouldn't have gone for Senong (I pray he Benjani proves me wrong though). His passion! tactical depth! and character was what the club clearly needed. But all this has been thrown away for our local coach who has failed dismally in the same league before with a smaller team! This however exposes the rot in Zimbabwe's football today and probably explains why we struggled in Morocco. Our football just has non-football people who call the crucial shots and unfortunately it always end in disaster. In coach Senong, I think Bosso and Zimbabwe missed out on a young and emerging brilliant coach who was going to change the story of our football. To coach Senong, what makes me feel better in all this is, you did mention that you met a few loving fans around Bulawayo, those are the people of Matabeleland! I know they would have loved you as long as you were going to take care of their beloved Highlanders ⚫️⚪️ "Tsamaya hantle ka mohau, abuti wa Afrika Borwa." 🙏🏾 To the Highlanders board, you can make decisions under duress or willingly but when things go south it is the name of the club that will be dragged not your names or any individual. To Benjani, only winning will save you from the Soweto jeers! and I hope you win because it will take forever for Bosso fans to accept you. To them you are not the chosen coach but you were imposed and pushed down their throats, all the best! Twende tubone Benji 🙏🏾 To the fans, I am sure we all don't know how this will work out but I know for a fact you will show up as always, because Bosso is more than just a football club to you njalo Kayisoze iBulawe 🎶 inde lendlela kodwa sizabona lapho okuyowela khona induku loxaxuxaku!
