@olajideobe I feel this same way about “Ibadan is the only city in the world where I feel this unexplainable peace and tranquility deep inside my soul. Ibadan is home to me and will always be home to me”.

As someone born and bred in Ibadan, having lived the first 30yrs of my life in Ibadan and also having my formal education in Oyo State up to master degree level, the choice of whomever emerges as the next governor of Oyo State is very pertinent to me. badan is the only city in the world where I feel this unexplainable peace and tranquility deep inside my soul. Ibadan is home to me and will always be home to me. I don't really care about partisan politics as such, but my real interest is good governance from those in power and delivery of the dividends of democracy to the masses. With what APC has done to the federation in the last eleven years since they took power from Jonathan lead PDP in 2015, in my honest opinion and unbiased judgement, I think APC taking the reins of power in Oyo State will be more like taking Oyo State back to the dark days, which isn't going to be in the best interests of the people resident in the state. A success without a good successor is a disguised failure in waiting. My one utmost desire about Oyo State is that Governor Seyi Makinde gets it right with the choice of his successor, and I hope the people of Oyo State will also vote enmass to ensure victory for the candidate Makinde presents to them as his successor. While APC can easily be cherry-picking on the subject of LGA autonomy to cast aspersion on the leadership of Seyi Makinde in Oyo State, they should at least endeavour to tell Nigerians in how many of the 32 states or so that are under their control where the LGAs have 100% full autonomy. Oyo must continue on the forward trajectory that @seyimakinde has set its course on, and refuse to ally with backward regression that the government at the centre (Federal) has steered Nigeria into.
Fletcher@nestaseyi

Under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration in Oyo State, local governments have often felt distant from the very communities they exist to serve. Despite recurring conversations around autonomy, their presence and impact at the grassroots level have remained largely invisible to many residents. That gap has fed a growing sense that local governance needs to be closer, more active, and more honestly connected to everyday life. That is precisely where Barrister Sharafa Alli enters the picture. A politician forged at the grassroots, his leadership is widely expected to bridge that distance, making local councils less bureaucratic and more human. Under his watch, the expectation is clear: local governments in Oyo State will no longer feel like remote institutions but will become active, visible forces in the lives of ordinary people. #BSADeclares

It’s been two years since I lost my brother, my friend, a loyal ally, and one of Kwara’s finest, Sen. Rafiu Adebayo Ibrahim. For those of us who were close to him, the weight of his absence is still deeply felt. I pray that Almighty Allah (SWT) continues to illuminate his grave and grant him the highest place in Aljannah Firdaus. May Allah grant his family strength, comfort, and guidance, and keep them under His protection always. Ameen.

@bukolasaraki Òlóyé, do not mind the bad belle people. How on earth will a two-term governor and a former Senate president conspire and aid robbery? Common sense is not common.

Ordinarily, my attitude to this insidious move by the incumbent Governor of Kwara State to initiate a case of criminal liability against me in the unfortunate incident of armed robbery which happened in Offa community eight years ago should be to shrug it off and say that we will meet in court since I know I have nothing to do with the incident or any other crime for that matter. However, I have been inundated with calls from many well-meaning Nigerians who were surprised by this turn of events. Thus, for the benefit of the general public, let me categorically state that I have nothing to do directly or indirectly with any case of armed robbery or any criminal matter, whatsoever. The Offa robbery incident was designed under the Buhari administration with the connivance of some individuals from Kwara State as an instrument of blackmail to seize political power from our group in 2019. The case was investigated by the police team from the office of the Inspector General of Police. However, following the investigation, in two separate legal advices dated June 22nd, 2018, and August 23rd, 2018, the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) in the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) stated that there was no evidence directly or indirectly linking me to the robbery incident. The DPP in his first legal advice stated that “For the Senate President and the Kwara State Governor, this office is unable to establish from the evidence in the interim report a nexus between the alleged offence and the suspects”. In a second report, the DPP stated that “With regards to the Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, since there is no departure from the earlier findings in the interim report, this office is still unable to establish any prima facie case against him for any offences of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery and culpable homicide”. Based on the DPP’s advice, four suspects were charged in court by the Kwara State Government. They were convicted at the trial court and the conviction was upheld by the appellate court. The matter is now before the Supreme Court. Suddenly, the governor woke up after I granted my interview to Channels TV where I commented on the insecurity in the state and thought he could resurrect these baseless charges against his two predecessors. I noticed that in his propaganda plan to circulate his frivolous charges and other skewed documents as paid advertisements in the national newspapers, even before serving the defendants, he intentionally hid the DPP reports and other documents which put a lie to the charade he is perpetuating. These are deliberate efforts to mislead the media and induce them to give purchased publicity to the frame-up. Therefore, I am under no illusion that this case was a frivolous move and an abuse of court process to embarrass my person. My legal team will definitely meet this governor in court. I believe that Abdulrahman just feels that he could still use this case to harass and defame my person by abusing the judicial process. He had tried to induce the families of the victims to initiate civil litigations against the other respondents and me, but he seemed not to be making progress with that mischievous effort because the families backed out. I need to remind him that this vicious attack on my reputation because he enjoys the immunity of a governor is a huge joke on him. A sitting governor who is accusing his two immediate predecessors of armed robbery is only making a mockery of the institution. He is only taking the governorship of our dear state to the gutter. This is an example of dirty politics taken too far and too low. He ought to know that nobody at the national or state level is buying his claim. He is the butt of a crude joke. Many of those involved in the plot to blackmail me with the Offa robbery case have since faced the judgments of the law of karma. I do not doubt that this governor will end up the same way.

The Curious Case of Joash Amupitan and His Time-Travelling Stalker Alright, let’s update the official story so it makes more sense. We are now meant to believe that Joash Amupitan does not own the account tied to his name. Instead, everything is the work of an impersonator. Not just any impersonator. A time-travelling stalker. Because that is the only way this explanation holds together. In 2006, this stalker goes back in time and opens a Yahoo email account in the exact name of Joash Amupitan. In 2009, when SIM registration starts tightening, the same stalker somehow gets a phone number registered under Joash Amupitan’s identity. In 2011, WhatsApp launches. Immediately, the stalker links that same phone number and that same email to a WhatsApp account in his name. Through the 2010s, the identity remains perfectly consistent. Same name. Same phone. Same email. No mistakes. Around 2020, fintech becomes mainstream. The stalker opens an OPay account. Same details. Same identity. Still no errors. Then in 2022, an X account appears. Again, tied to the exact same ecosystem of email and phone number. But the stalker does not stop at digital platforms. At some point, they also manage to align this same identity with official academic records, linking it to Joash Amupitan’s role at the University of Jos. So this is the story: One person, moving across nearly two decades, carefully building and maintaining a flawless digital identity for Joash Amupitan across email, telecom registration, messaging apps, financial platforms, and institutional records. No inconsistencies. No breaks. No deviation. Just a perfectly synchronized identity trail. All to impersonate him because this time traveler knew that in 2025 he would become the INEC Chair and his enemies would try to frustrate him. At that point, it is no longer impersonation. It is long-term identity authorship. So yes, if this explanation is what we are going with, then “time-travelling stalker” is actually the most reasonable part of the story. In the meantime, On Bola Tinubu's Mandate We All Stand.
