Incoming 5th graders and families are invited to come tomorrow night (1/28/26) to tour our DRMS campus and learn more about the transition to middle school for next year — course offerings, elective options, extracurricular activities, and more.

We hosted La Cueva counselors in our 8th Grade ELA classes today to walk students through high school course options and the registration process for 2026–2027. Lots of great questions and future planning happening!

First home game for our DRMS girls basketball season last night. VIP support squad in the bleachers via @LCGirlsHoops team coming out to cheer for our younger players and future Bears. 🐍 💙 🐻

We were packed to the absolute brim for our winter choir concert tonight - our kid performance energy definitely matched the room. Our students sounded amazing and brought so much joy to the evening!

It’s finally starting to feel like winter this week, and those morning temps are no joke. Plan ahead and dress for the cold—layers, actual jackets, pants, and shoes that aren’t sandals are key. Your future 7:45 AM self will thank you. Stay warm, Diamondbacks!

Seven of our DRMS students had artwork selected for Rising Artists of New Mexico: A Juried Exhibition Featuring Middle and High School Students at UNM. Their pieces will be on display at the Masley Gallery through 12/4. Congratulations to our talented artists!

State Middle School XC Meet yesterday. Huge meet with a stadium finish and perfect running weather. Austin Steinbeisser finished 4th overall in the boys division. The girls team placed 4th overall, and the boys team finished 9th out of 40 schools. So proud of all our athletes!

Girls volleyball wrapped up the regular season tonight with a road win! Both A and B teams went undefeated, dropping only one set all season. Tournament bracket comes out tomorrow—so proud of our Diamondbacks! 💚🏐

Our Diamondbacks showed up strong at the first New Mexico Math Meet! Huge congrats to the 8th grade boys for taking 1st place overall—so proud of all our students who competed!

Mr. Robledo’s class designed their very own State Fair restaurants! Students created menus, chose uniforms, and planned out the best business hours. Such a fun way to mix imagination with real-world problem solving! 🌟🍔🎡

First cross country meet of the season in Edgewood this afternoon—beautiful weather, strong efforts from our runners, and such a fantastic way to kick off the season!

🏐Volleyball is off to an amazing start! Both A and B teams are now 2-0 after their first games this week, including a great home opener tonight. Way to go, Diamondbacks!

Our DRMS scientists were on cloud nine today—bottling up clouds with a little pressure, a little science, and a cirrus-ly fun forecast of wiggling, dancing, and smiling along the way!🌧️ 🤓

Kicking off the year in Exploratory Art with lots of color and creativity! 🎨 Our artists have been experimenting with the elements of art and color theory—painting, printing, and mixing it all together to make some amazing pieces.

Game time in Social Studies class today! Our 6th graders put their geography skills to the test with Latitude & Longitude Battleship.

Volleyball try-outs start next week! All interested athletes must have a completed Athletic Physical uploaded to Dragonfly in order to try out. Please reach out to our coaches with any questions! 🏐

Our Unified PE doing their “get to know you” presentations about their peers and sharing finished posters on inclusive scenarios—showing ways to make sure everyone feels welcome and included. Love seeing kindness, leadership, and connection spreading all over our DRMS campus! 💚

🗓️ Our DRMS Open House & Curriculum Night is Thursday, August 14 from 6:00–7:30 PM. Parents will rotate through their student’s schedule, meet teachers, and learn more about activities, involvement opportunities, & support resources. We can’t wait to welcome you to our campus!
