Dear incoming interns: Remember that your attendings have been practicing medicine for years, while you're essentially getting a new job every 4 weeks. Know that your job is not to know everything. Your job is to show up, ask questions, & care deeply for your patients.

Women in medicine: - Earn less. - Are less likely to be in leadership. - Have fewer research opportunities. - Spend more hours on domestic responsibilities. Yet, they still spend more time with patients and provide better care. The bias against women needs to END.

Peri and menopausal women (elder millennials-Gen X!) are the single richest and most educated generation of women that has ever existed. You think they’re going to accept the frail, incontinent fate of their mothers and grandmothers? Think again. 🔥

It is your doctors job to explain to you what is going on with your care. Ask them to repeat themselves or more questions until you understand what’s going on!!
