@neerajjj6785 because the original file contained lots of repeated or predictable data compression stores those patterns more efficiently, so the same information takes much less space

Interviewer: A 10GB file becomes 3GB when zipped. No quality lost. No data removed. So the real question is: Why was it 10GB in the first place?
