Interior Minister, Hon. Mohammed-Mubarak Muntaka has responded to concerns surrounding the publication of aptitude test results in the ongoing recruitment into the country’s internal security services. Speaking to the media in Parliament, the Interior Minister explained that the disqualification of thousands of applicants from the more than 500,000 people who applied was due to the limited number of available slots. He disclosed that over 130,000 applicants applied to the Ghana Police Service alone, while the entire police force currently has a strength of about 49,000 personnel. He, however, stressed that the ministry is taking all necessary steps to ensure the recruitment process remains fair and equitable under the circumstances.
