@WillForster Still no luck. I tried everything, followed all the rules and still can’t get my passport. To top it all off the recent change allowing me to use an expired passport won’t work, why? Because the Home Office made me send it to them as part of the application process. I give up.

@henrycooke No one’s going to prison. 3 months imprisonment is a pretend sentence. You should look up how many people have actually gone to prison when convicted for a 3 month offence. Anything under 2 years must be considered for home detention. Ironic given the crime.

The Govt is giving police the power to “move on” anyone: - Begging - Rough sleeping - “Intending to inhabit a public place” And send them to prison for up to three months (or fine them up to $2k) if they don’t.

I’ll honestly never forget how I felt watching Luke Skywalker unexpectedly appear in this episode of The Mandalorian. Stayed up until 3 AM just to watch this finale live, and sat in disbelief while watching this sequence unfold. I still can’t find the words to express just how emotional this moment was almost seven years later. Will forever be one of the most iconic scenes in all of Star Wars.

Under current New Zealand law, you do not need to be a New Zealand citizen to serve in the police or the military. Permanent residents and, in some cases, non-citizens are allowed. I think that is wrong. Police, military, and courts are not just “jobs”. They are the institutions that exercise the state’s monopoly on force. They can arrest you. They can imprison you. They can use lethal force. They can judge you. That power should only ever be held by New Zealand citizens. Citizenship is not about paperwork. It is about allegiance, accountability, and long-term commitment to this country and its people. If someone wants the authority to enforce our laws, carry weapons on our behalf, or judge fellow New Zealanders, they should first fully join the nation they are serving. That means citizenship. Not residency. Not temporary status. This isn’t anti-immigrant. It’s pro-sovereignty. A serious country should ensure that those who wield the greatest power over its people have complete skin in the game.
