The ED population is sick and unfortunately not as optimized as the OR cases, if anything it's a miracle sometimes we even get the airway - which 4 Anesthesiologists would be hovering over in the OR, after pre-op clinic, medicine consult, and fully fasted belly.

Started again...entire healthcare system is signing out to the ER for the holidays. Patients calling GPs office being told no appointments available for their non-urgent problem, go to ER. No added support for the ER to meet the demand. ER not able to be on-call for everything
