Dockless Obstructions

The dockless cycle hire revolution has taken over London’s streets - literally. Lime & Forest bikes litter pavements across the capital causing hazards for pedestrians - especially for older, blind, partially sighted and disabled people. Pavements are for people, NOT parking!

Hey @forestbike_uk please remove all the bikes you’ve deployed across the pavement on Eversholt Street Euston - parking in 🅿️ bays is MANDATORY in Camden. This is what happens when dockless hire companies manage ‘parking’ themselves.

Geofencing, docking stations, and parking management by hire companies themselves DOES NOT WORK! Fuerteventura have e-scooter dock stations, but pavements are still being obstructed by abandoned escooters.

@AliciaHayes1884 @CamdenCouncil Big problem with them near Tottenham Court Road station - obstructing pavement and two pedestrian crossings at New Oxford Street. We’ve been raising for years - sadly still a daily hazard.

@DocklessObs Have been told there is a problem with these bikes at a crossing in Tottenham Court Road. Haven’t seen for myself but the source is reliable @CamdenCouncil

Geofenced dockless cycle hire parking bays don’t work - contract agreements with hire companies or not.

@forestbike_uk @CamdenCouncil Thank you. Would be helpful and more sustainable (less vans) if you didn’t deploy them obstructing pavements in first place!

@DocklessObs @CamdenCouncil We will of course remove parked on the pavement and not in a parking bay. We have also passed this on to our operations manager, thanks again for bringing this to our attention!

Euston we have a problem (again). Forest @forestbike_uk have deployed rows and rows of bikes for hire across pavements in breach of @CamdenCouncil contract. Lime @limebike usual ‘overspill’ from dockless hire 🅿️ bay sprawling across pavements.

@forestbike_uk @CamdenCouncil Some of the bikes? Surely you mean MOST of the bikes! 8 deployed in accordance with parking rules in the official 🅿️ bay. 50+ deployed breaching parking rules on pavement. Why are you deploying bikes for hire on the pavement?

Hello @IslingtonBC How many cycle hire ebikes are permitted to be left ‘at’ a single public cycle 🅿️ rack?

Euston dockless cycle hire 🅿️ bay needs to be relocated off pavement and extended - current parking space for only 8 e-bikes. Aprox 100 bikes are obstructing pavement - not enough room in Lime van to remove them all in one go!

Lime bikes dangerously obstructing pedestrian crossing - pavement impassable (again). This is not a ‘parking area’ @IslingtonBC it’s a pavement of a pedestrian crossing at a major road junction.
