@FansAgainstVAR_ Mate, my manifesto is here:
docs.google.com/document/d/1Ue…
100 ways to improve football.
I'm on 74 so far
English

VAR
Kick off times
Shirt begging signs
Players covering their mouths
Ticket prices
Tourists over real fans
All seater stadiums
No beer in view of the pitch
Players making more in one week than fans male in a year
There's honestly too much
Knowl@gmkonline
Worst thing about modern football
English

@AdvFtbAcad And yet he sits on the IFAB board and promotes anti football nonsense...
Fraud is an over used word...
English

@sidlowe Going beyond 90' is so simple, yet why do so few clubs do it?
My club - YB in 🇨🇭- shows replays, but not of opposition goals. I sort of admire the pettiness, but it is actually really frustrating!
And no VAR replays - because who cares about fans in the ground....
English

@ma33499357 @afc_richard That was the replay at Old Trafford.
Which they wouldn't have got now because of the no replay rule.
English

@afc_richard Nigel Clough was saying a Burton away day a few years back kept the club going for more than a decade. 800k or something. So as much as I like the point in principle i just don't think it would benefit smaller clubs financially.
English

@AwayDays_ I hope they include something like this in the new San Siro.
Went to a game a couple of weeks ago - what a stadium!! 🤌🤌
English

@Barbara4003 Because the people who run football are incompetent, clueless, yet cycnical, fools who don't care about actual fans at all.
So long as the TV audience is catered for by their fabricated nonsense then they are happy.
VAR and @IFAB are a stain on the modern game
English

@daisychristo One can only conclude they simply don't care.
They could simply show the live TV feed. They could show the myriad replays.
They are just not interested in fans in the ground.
It's purely a TV 'product' with all the production values geared to the TV audience.
Shame on them.
English

@daisychristo There's zero interest in actual match going fans.
I've been told by the Swiss League (I live in Bern and go to YB) that they are looking into improving it since November 2023 but apparently it is complicated...
And yet they can cut to adverts for first corner in an instant...
English

I am watching the Spurs vs Palace match on TV and there's just been a lengthy VAR check for offside.
It is so much better watching VAR on telly than in the ground. You get all the angles, loads of replays, loads of graphics and the commentators tell you the decision before anyone in the ground knows it!
It is optimised for TV, not for fans in the ground.
English

@sfl But don't worry, tomorrow's another day and you can invent more epic ways to show how much you despise football and football fans.
I'm sure you won't disappoint in your endless ability to ruin this beautiful game.
Tiny minded, pedantic, joyless, clueless, awful people.
English

@News_SFL
No genuine feel for the game. Clearly no love for it.
Pointless and wrong on every turn.
You wake up every morning wondering how to ruin football a little bit more.
I don't know who hurt you, but don't take it out on football and its fans
Just go away and get help
English

There is literally no depth you won't go to in order to ruin a game of football.
To what end? To what purpose?
For the self justification of your own existence.
@News_SFL Awful, misguided, weak minded and clueless enjoyment vampires.
You have no point or purpose.
English

@News_SFL
Pathetic. Your standard of VAR, of reffing, of decision making about handball is pathetic.
A disgrace.
You can't simply punish players for having arms.
No regard for biology and no regard for clear and obvious.
You actively seek to ruin games.
Pathetic people.
English

@Chels1an Do you actually go to watch games live?
I don't know a single person who attends games live who wants to keep VAR.
English

@DomThomas8 Wanting the people who hold supreme power over who wins and loses to get things right isn’t overthinking
English

"but it kills the flow and the emotion"
i literally never want to live in a world where my team could concede a goal on a call that is demonstrably, factually wrong, but I'm forced to accept it because "the vibes are better if we do it quickly"
horrible. worst possible outcome
InsensibleCFC@Chels1an
The amount of people on FT who think a time limit for offside VAR decisions is a good idea is baffling Can't believe anyone would accept that we've the technology to make correct calls but would prefer incorrect calls stand because they don't have the attention span to wait
English

@TheIFAB
Do you deal with questions about FIFA Peace Prize 'winners' breaking international law?
English

@Chels1an The answer to VAR being a soul sucking joyless thing isn't more VAR.
Keep goal line tech if you must.
But the rest of it can get in the sea. It's actively anti-football.
Beloved by pedants and the joyless.
English

@Chels1an At all levels of football it should be:
Score goal
Look at lino (Assistant Ref if you like)
Flag - offside and no goal
No flag - goal and celebrate
Simple.
And fun.
You remember fun? You remember joy?
English

@DomThomas8 Spoken like someone who has never played football
It’s anticompetitive and unfair to the players on the pitch to let incorrect calls decide their fate when we can provide officials with the tools to get it right
English
