"There are multiple international actors whose goal in getting Donald Trump into the White House was actually to get Jared Kushner into the White House." -- @gaslitnationpatreon.com/posts/so-many-…
@ManMadeMoon@NandosUSA Have you seen this video? I didn’t even know what Nando’s was and now it will be my first stop whenever I get to the UK again. Didn’t know I could buy the sauce on Amazon. Purchased! youtube.com/watch?v=b_N9E9…
@jsnell@caseyliss I made a universal IR controller with a Raspberry Pi that I can control by voice or script. You do need to solder together that small circuit on top. If any of your stuff dies, it’s a good and cheap option. The receiver is for learning the remote buttons.
@marcoarment@siracusa Correction: despair. You cannot see it on a background that tends towards blue. In a red or magenta background, the burn in is really bad. Moving the Switch to another TV and waiting a year…
@marcoarment@siracusa Marco, I have the same OLED TV as you and my 6yo son burned the Mario Maker 2 HUD in too. I stopped him playing for a week and it went away. Do not despair.
@marcoarment I have the exact same configuration as you for my 21 year-old, dying refrigerator. The repairmen say to stay away from LG and Samsung as they are seeing them die in just 2 years. My max is 36x25x88”. Please keep us posted on what you find for a replacement!
@marcoarment I suffered sinus problems for decades. The fluid buildup in my right ear was so bad, I couldn’t chew on that side. Get a Naväge. You will feel like you are drowning at first, and you must experiment with all 3 nozzles & both flow directions. It completely cured me, drug free.
@leemthompo@marcoarment I know your key issue, but being thermally crappy and unrepairable are bad too. My 2009 MacBook Pro is still going strong. I’ve replaced memory, drives, fans, and batteries, but these were 5-10 min. jobs. Now it’s 3 days+ at Apple, and $$$ for Apple and consumers.
@leemthompo I bought the 3-year AppleCare, so I’m waiting to November to get it done. Did they do the repair without you being without a computer for long? Was it the battery expanding?
@marcoarment Mine is a $4,300 (+$750 dongles and AppleCare), 2-year old laptop that doesn’t travel. A laptop that shuts down completely (ungracefully) for thermal issues. It now has a ⅛” gap on the side where the aluminum has bent from a swelling battery that I can’t replace myself.
@ElliottKalan Bought Monty Python Fluxx to play with wife and 5yo. At first I thought it was impossible that your 4yo learned it, but the osmosis is strong with my boy too! If the “Letters” song annoys people, they are lucky they don’t hear what we do to “Brave Sir Robbin”…
@mathowie@marcoarment Small sample size, but I’ve bought an iPhone every year since the first. I didn’t this year (and neither for my wife). Also, over the years my Messages steadily turned blue among my friends, but this year they have been turning back green…
@siracusa Happy birthday, John! I always felt sorry for people with birthdays near Christmas until you shared your tip of lobbying for more expensive combo gifts. I’ve passed the wisdom on to people I know in similar circumstances.
@marcoarment As is this remote. It’s the only remote that I have that requires me to buy a loop so I know which way is up and a tracker so I can find it in the couch.
My TV wasn’t showing all of the Super Smash UI. Thanks to remembering @siracusa mention “overscan” on ATP, I corrected the problem (on 2 TVs)! @marcoarment, to fix on LG OLED it’s intuitively corrected with Menu > All Settings > Picture > Aspect Ratio Settings > Just Scan = On
