Over the years I’ve been in many towns and cities when they were being bombed — in a few cases (Baghdad, Belgrade etc) by my own country. No matter what the justification, most of the victims have been entirely innocent. I’ve come to loathe the very thought of aerial bombardment.

Decision upheld 🟥 Last week at York Magistrates’ Court, ex-Head Gamekeeper Racster Dingwall pleaded guilty to conspiracy to kill a Hen Harrier – this after covert RSPB footage caught him in the act, along with two armed accomplices, on a grouse moor in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. This is the first ever successful prosecution in England relating to Hen Harrier persecution - and yes, it does make you wonder how many others are at it…
