New hope for children with anxiety. A new study comparing two therapies for childhood GAD found that: - RNT-focused ACT (a version of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy targeting repetitive negative thinking) outperformed non-directive therapy (NDT) — according to both kids and their parents. - Children in the ACT group showed stronger reductions in worry and emotional symptoms. - And—less worry wasn’t just a bonus. It actually mediated the improvement, showing how powerful addressing repetitive thinking can be. Even with just three 45-minute online sessions, this focused ACT approach made a measurable difference. This research offers promising evidence that brief, targeted ACT interventions could help children navigate anxiety with more flexibility and less fear. 💚 ow.ly/uVIV30sQMe6 #ACBS #JCBS #ACT #ContextualBehavioralScience #ChildAnxiety #MentalHealthResearch #PsychFlexibility #Parenting #ChildTherapy #BehavioralScience #MentalHealth

Opening para of chapter 6 of Beyond Freedom and Dignity. What an opener. Dripping with implications for what it means to be human, what it means to exist within human societies & what it might mean to position oneself so as to be an agent of positive change within human societies

In this workshop, Louise will demonstrate how you can use the DNA-V model, as the growth model of ACT, to explore neuroaffirmative strategies for young people; meeting them where they are at and working with them on how they might want to grow. Sign up: buff.ly/eC08SXF

When feeling pain associated with doing something inconsistent with your values, be kind to yourself. We all fall off the values horse; most of us frequently. But don’t allow that self-kindness to result in behavioural complacency. Rather, use the pain to guide you back to value.

Can ACT help kids thrive in school? A new study published in #JCBS on Connect PSHE, an ACT-informed curriculum, found that even without extra support for teachers, students saw improved well-being. #ACBS #ACT #MentalHealthInSchools pdf.sciencedirectassets.com/282078/1-s2.0-…
