He shows up they cut him, simple. Yet he won’t for some reason. So Niners don’t have to pay him if he stays away. He’s not hurting the Niners financially by staying away

Brandon Aiyuk checks in again via IG... -Confirms that the 49ers paid him about $50 million post-extension ($48.1m to be exact) -Calls the 49ers "stupid" for paying him -For some reason says 49ers voided his guarantees for 2027 (actually was 2026) and will be on a new team in 2027 (does he realize 49ers won't release him in 2026?) @akashanav He would have to pass a physical and the niners control if he passes or fails. So he could show they go on the NFI list and still not force anything. The niners could hold him til his contract expires if they really wanted to.

The most confusing part of this whole Brandon Aiyuk thing, why doesn’t he just show up?
Eventually, if he’s in the building and reporting, it should force the 49ers to release him.

I pushed hard last offseason that Maxx Crosby could be dealt and was met with so much pushback that the Raiders would never trade him
Never wrong, just early and I expect the 49ers to heavily pursue Maxx as my read is they did last year as well

Negative. Im looking at the folks who started the domino effect, and that’s by waiting to extend him knowing full well there were a handful of star receivers needing extensions. Get ahead of it and this isn’t an issue.

If anyone should bear the responsibility of the Brandon Aiyuk disaster, it's Kyle Shanahan, considering he's the only person in the organization who wanted to extend Aiyuk. John Lynch wanted to trade him.
