What really goes against your common sense is dispensing Apixaban which is best price from my main wholesaler this month ~ £34 and the drug tariff price is £2.99 What other business would do this?

Another important medicine- olanzapine 20mg tablets. The department of health pay us £1.50 per pack. Then they take 20% OFF as they expect us to get a discount - so we receive £1.20. The cheapest we can buy is £2.67. We get paid less than half the cost. #saveourpharmacies

@JanjuaAdam This needs collaborative working between the practice and pharmacy to make it work by using the referral tools available in gp land to reduce the amount of bounce back. Unfortunately the PGDs are very limited which isn’t helpful to either side. Frustrating for both sectors 😔

A reminder to GP contract holders - As an independent contractor to the NHS, you don't have to wait for permission from the BMA to start scaling back services. It is not possible to deliver all services with a 1.9% contract uplift. Consider planning cuts.
