Trends show a hard truth: women are now major perpetrators of digital violence against other women. Mhandu yemunhu, munhu. Studies show women are 30% more likely to be bullied, and when women bully, 70% target other women with harmful mental health effects. #Letsbreakthecycle

Corruption in health and education goes beyond stolen resources; it has a human face. Women and girls often carry the heaviest burden: For vulnerable groups such as people with disabilities or key populations, stigma is often weaponised, making access to essential services conditional on bribes or favours. @NVMabhikwa stressed, corruption entrenches inequality and discrimination. Tackling it requires applying a gender-sensitive lens in both policy responses and investigative reporting. At Transparency International Zimbabwe, we believe stronger accountability mechanisms and inclusive approaches are essential if health and education services are to serve everyone fairly. #EndCorruptionZW #TIZim

Massive turnout at ZIMSEC hearings. 05 September 2025 The Union is glad that parliament took heed of our protest when the public hearings were aborted after MPs were in no show. Today the Parliament mobilized and the parliamentarians were in attendance. During the public hearings on the Zimsec Amendment Bill held at the Ambassador Hotel in Harare, various stakeholders, including teachers, students, and parents, made several submissions: - The registration fees for private schools are prohibitively high, with schools needing to pay 2,500 to operate. The categorization of candidates as public or private is seen as discriminatory based on these costs. - There is a notable inconsistency in the examination process, which undermines public trust. A call for greater consistency in exams was made. - The leaking of Zimsec exams has eroded trust in the system, prompting parents to seek alternatives for their children. Stricter laws should be enforced against those who leak exams. - Concerns were raised about Grade 7 students taking their exams earlier than before, with a request to return to previous practices where foundational learning was emphasized. - The use of AI by students is a contentious issue; while it should not be allowed in exams, there are differing views on how to handle its use. - Teachers’ needs must be acknowledged, and they should receive fair compensation for their hard work to ensure a motivated workforce. - The government needs to ensure funding is available for everyone to access education. - There has been a long pause in the construction of new schools, placing additional burdens on struggling children and parents. - There was a strong demand for better pay for teachers.
