OK, I'm out. It's a pornography site now, the rest of us are just freeloading on that monetization model while we spiral around a common drain. I wish all of you well. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

The American conservative movement needs to step back and think about how alienating its rhetoric has become to those with reasonable suspicions about the overuse of state power. I was suspicious of police-state tactics during Covid. I'm not going to stop now.

I'm fine with the "this was a horrible tragic mistake, no one should go to jail over it" take. But there's no evidence at all that she was turning *toward* the agent. She's clearing turning her wheels *away* as the car begins to move. I am not "retarded" or "morally insane".
Matt Walsh@MattWalshBlog

I agree that it is a dividing line. If you think an agitator has the right to hit federal agents with her car to stop them from enforcing our immigration laws then you are not only retarded but also evil and morally insane, and I don’t recognize you as a good faith actor, a respectable human, or a fellow American.

The FBI has lost my trust and will need to win it back with good communication. Some of the conspiracy theories have admittedly been far-fetched and I prefer more limited speculation. But the official narrative isn't consistent with Newtonian mechanics. reason.com/2022/09/04/its…

The FBI had months to investigate this story and explain to the public (by reference to autopsy and ballistics reports) how it happened. Maybe there's a way to explain all this, but the public shouldn't be left to guess. It's the FBI's job to explain this to us, not TPUSA's.

This is a "market for lemons" effect that used to be managed by local-reputation checks on abuse. The expanded pool from app-powered dating makes it easy for a minority of women to wreck the trust in the system by "dating" for permanent free meals without suffering consequences.
Steven Godofsky@sgodofsk

for those keeping track at home the reason some dudes are mad about buying dinner on dates is that it is possible to go on a fairly large number of first dates which go nowhere, and buying dinner isn't annoying the 1st time or the 5th time but probably is the 40th time

Wish I could travel back in time a generation to get some extremely good betting odds on "The next American civil war will begin in the state of Minnesota." Mid-90s would be optimal. Oh, you betcha yeah.

I typically don't like to be alarmist but any student of history would tell you: all the lights are blinking scarlet red. I mean: - Massive military expansion: check (see below) - Annexation threats: check - Demonstrated willingness to use force unilaterally: check - New imperial doctrine proclaimed: check - Withdrawal from international organizations and international treaties: check At this stage we're not even watching warning signs anymore. We're watching the thing itself, in motion. The only way the world stops this train is to put differences aside and form a balancing coalition. Otherwise the dominos will keep falling one after the other. Hope of self-restraint of a rogue great power isn't historically a very successful strategy. Self-restraint requires either institutions (now being exited) or norms (now being shredded). The only thing that can bring it back is fear of consequences.
The White House@WhiteHouse

"I have determined that, for the Good of our Country, especially in these very troubled and dangerous times, our Military Budget for the year 2027 should not be $1 Trillion Dollars, but rather $1.5 Trillion Dollars..." - President Donald J. Trump

"Countries have the right to exploit the resources within their own national boundaries" is part of the "nationalist" package of beliefs. "Countries can threaten to invade other countries to claim such resources" is part of the "globalist-imperialist" package of beliefs.
Cernovich@Cernovich

If I understand some of you correctly: The United States should not do anything. Let other countries colonize and exploit the world, giving themselves control over rare earth minerals and oil, which makes us reliant on these powers. We should sit by passively. Is that about it?
