♦️ICYMI♦️ The National Spokesperson, Commissar @Sinawo_Thambo, speaks to Newzroom Afrika about the Ad Hoc Committee investigating allegations raised by KwaZulu-Natal SAPS Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi. —Commissar Thambo states that not scheduling General Khan to appear before the Committee was a missed opportunity, but this cannot be blamed on the EFF. Lt Gen Mkhwanazi did not make any substantive allegations about General Khan during the 6 July conference, nor did he link him to any political parties. As such, it was mischievous to do so in his latest testimony. At the initial stage of scheduling witnesses, there was nothing substantial that would have warranted the Committee to call General Khan. In fact, in his Madlanga Commission testimony, Lt Gen Mkhwanazi clears General Khan in relation to a disciplinary process linked to a drug bust, where Khan intervened to stop police officers from stealing drugs and potentially repurposing them.
