Hey! So it was never intended to be Resident Evil 4. In fact it was supposed to be the sequel to Resident Evil 2. And even then, because of politicking, it wasn’t going to be called Resident Evil 3.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica IS Resident Evil 4. Listen, I’m not an old head…I’m playing this game for the first time right now. It’s literally the continuation of the series and is followed up by RE4 & RE5. The series is one number off with each release, it’s kind of insane.

I've played RE games *a lot* throughout my life and one of the strangest misconceptions about 'survival horror' is that "ammo should be scarce" what part of old survival horror games ever signaled that? it wasn't silent hill it wasn't resident evil where did it come from?

The idea is that you have 9 inventory slots per character, which is a total of 9 slots.
You are meant to really have like 2 to 3 weapons (I suggest 2) per character plus their ammo types. That leaves the remaining 3 to 5 for healing, vests, and/or grenades
