Great session with the @RCHTWeCare acute physiotherapy medical rehab team yesterday, explaining the support that Butterfly Companions provide end of life patients + their families. Recruiting them as eyes + ears on the wards so together we can help more patients🧑‍🤝‍🧑 🦋 🧑‍🤝‍🧑

The ⁦@RCHTWeCare⁩ Butterfly Companions had a great team supervision yesterday, including an introduction to Jewish death practices from Jeremy of Kehillat Kernow. He showed us his prayer shawl & gave a great insight into the preferences a Jewish patient may have. 🦋

I’ve learned a lot about brain cancer in the last four weeks including this shocking statistic. Grateful to those campaigning today. In our house we’re focused on recovery from surgery and awaiting an initial appointment with oncology. #LessSurvivableCancersAwarenessDay

Today is #LessSurvivableCancersAwarenessDay, and we’re highlighting today that the UK is falling behind other countries. We’ve compared survival outcomes between the UK and comparable countries and found that brain tumours and other less survivable cancers continue to lag behind.

So sad I’ve spent the day of the Butterfly Companions Christmas party in my sick bed 😥. My fab ⁦@RCHTVoluntarySv⁩ and ⁦@ChaplaincyRcht⁩ colleagues hosted brilliantly and we won the ⁦@AnneRobsonTrust⁩ countrywide quiz!! ⁦ The cards I made the volunteers 🦋🌲⬇️
