Hearing disturbing news that Egyptian HRD Ahmed Douma has been summoned for the 7th time since he was freed on presidential pardon in 2023. He was previously freed on bail but this time is held in custody pending investigation on the usual charges of “spreading false news.” The authorities must close all the cases against him and end this harassment. @PMEgypt_Geneva

📢 Human rights organizations have called on the Egyptian authorities to immediately and unconditionally lift the travel ban imposed on lawyer Hoda Abdelwahab, Executive Director of the Arab Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession (ACIJLP), emphasizing that this restriction has persisted for a full decade without a clear legal basis. ⚖️ The organizations condemned the continued inclusion of Abdelwahab on travel ban lists since 2016, despite the official announcement of the closure of the "Foreign Funding Case", which was the original pretext for these measures. 🚫 The statement denounced the failure to officially notify Abdelwahab of the ban or its reasons, noting that the authorities have provided only ambiguous responses to the grievances and complaints she submitted to the Criminal Court and the Public Prosecutor's Office. 📑 The organizations demanded an urgent legal clarification regarding her current status, as well as compensation for the professional and personal damages she has suffered as a result of these prolonged and arbitrary restrictions. 🔗 To read the full statement: egyptianforum.org/8cc2

المنبر المصري لحقوق الإنسان أطلق تقرير "أينما ذهبوا .. القمع العابر للحدود واستهداف المصريين في الخارج". تشرفت إني أشتغل مع الأصدقاء والزملاء سمر الحسيني وسارة حمزة ومعتز الفجيري ومحمد عبيد على توثيق عشرات الانتهاكات اللي بتلمسنا كلنا وبتتقاطع مع قصصنا الشخصية كمدافعين عن حقوق الإنسان خارج مصر. طبعا فيه كتير من الجنود المجهولين في إنتاج التقرير وإعداد الفيديو والترجمة وإخراجه بالشكل اللائق بموضوع مهم زي ده. والشكر والتقدير الأكبر لكل اللي وافقوا يتكلموا معانا ويشاركوا قصصهم. في الفيديو بتكلم عن التقرير ومنهجيتنا في البحث والتوثيق، وممكن تقرأوا التقرير من الرابط في التغريدة المرفقة.
