@thosethatcan I’m 53 & still feel disgusted by the 40-something woman who made my life hell as a teenage “busboy” in a fancy restaurant. Even back then, I KNEW her pettiness stemmed from jealousy & self-hatred, because I had my whole life ahead of me, while she was dissatisfied with hers

If you’ve worked in retail, pls could you share some ‘worst customer’ stories? A woman shouted repeatedly at my 17yo today on her second day working at M&S for rolling rather than folding a jumper and made her cry. Exercises in resilience. Humour has (almost) saved the day.

@realgirl_fieri Before going to sleep, I mentally list & give thanks for the best moments of my day. A delicious coffee. A belly laugh with my husband. A tree frog outside my window. This short focus on gratitude has been hugely helpful in dealing with grief, chronic pain & PTSD

@ElkaRay Anyone suspected of a crime should say "no" to the polygraph (and get a lawyer): polygraphy is a pseudoscientific fraud. Police use it as a pretext for interrogating suspects without a lawyer present. Your "failing" the "test" may be a pre-scripted part of the interrogation plan.

My dad passed away last night after a very short battle with cancer. He was in and out of my life over the years, but in the past few months we’d built some bridges and were in a good place. We had plans to meet up, but sadly, that wasn’t to be. RIP big man x

@ElkaRay Oh no. I should stress that it's not like our school was teaching us how to get away with murder or anything. Just how our bodies react to stress, and how one - if need be - could make one's bodies exhibit those same stress reactions.
