Perhaps not all the time, but many times, I think the Church in Canada has forgotten that the crescendo of the New Testament is that God is love.
This demands more uncertainty, more humility and more community, not less.

At least my book will not be riddled with libel, lies & legal lawsuit liabilities.
The only people who have sold Christ for their 30 pieces of silver are people who have fully (and unquestioningly) attached their political witness to one political party and candidate - all while publicly kissing Jesus.

My 30th birthday was unexpectedly traumatic and lonely.
There’s a level of loneliness experienced by immigrants that only other immigrants can understand.
For my 31st birthday, some of my closest friends (most of them immigrant Canadians in ministry I met this past year; none of them on Twitter) are throwing me a birthday party tonight.
I’m going to need a ton of Kleenex tonight. 😭

I am so encouraged by the fearless, compassionate students all over our country who are calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, including those setting up encampments and risking arrest for nonviolent protests. This is heartbreakingly true even across the Canadian evangelical church right now.
Just this past week, I backed out of a speaking engagement at a conference that disinvited a fellow speaker (a female pastor) for her stance on a secondary issue that some of the conference organizers disagreed on - despite still agreeing on the primary stuff.
We’re in big trouble when we start canceling each other over secondary issues.
