L had everything: lyrics, metaphors, the voice, the flow, beats, everything. It’s incredible to think that he was 20 when he put this record together. When asked about Big L, Nas said “he scared me to death. when I heard [his performance at the Apollo Theater] on tape, I was scared to death.
