@cdonfielding Not that some of them would have needed that excuse anyway. The thing is people have their opinions rightly or wrongly. Wrongly if it is sexism. Not just subjects, though when people criticise something they never let go. Everything always escalates, terrible

@cdonfielding I like to listen to her analysis always have. When I first saw the kitchen setting in this WC I thought it looked a bit naff, bearing the subject matter and her unique analysis delivery. Then it dawned on me that people would latch on with sexism....

@rosiedawson_14 For many of em they can't take in the technical part of the game. Their only knowledge of the game is the hatred of their local rival clubs but some people like the actual game.

It’s really weird this. What exactly disqualifies Emma Hayes from analysing & explaining football dynamics? The women’s game is, if anything, even more dependent on tactics & planning than the men’s. She is an elite coach. Listening to Murphy or Dixon drone on is not preferable.

@HWT_PE It is really good hearing her vast knowledge. I think it is spoiled with the kitchen setting. She may or may not be a fan of being in the kitchen, like I would be, but i think it starts people stereotyping before you start.

No I’m sorry but you’re wrong here. I’ve watched football my whole life, I’ve seen hundreds of male pundits. She understands football to an elite level, full stop. @AyrshireNL @anne_hegerty But a good coach can still give an observation and analysis of patterns of play and notice what certain players have excelled in or fallen short with. She is still a coach and whether the men's game is better or not is not relevant really

@anne_hegerty You see the difference in the physicality, speed and skill in this world cup alone and they are the same sex. Some top managers are managing the poorer teams in this world cup. They are still highly regarded coaches but they probably won't go through.

@DearS_o_n My dad was awesome and died a long time ago. I am thinking of him a lot more the last couple of years. In fact somehow I am using his memory to be a better human.
