@EyekutterV @MattWolfgang @lady_valor_07 I’d give you a recipe but I don’t ever measure. Lol Look for recipes with butter (cold & cut into the flour OR melted), buttermilk & stock as the liquid; I don’t use eggs but some recipes call for that too.

Nah, she made rolled dumplings where it's just like raw boiled dough, similar to noodles. You could never substitute tortillas for the dumplings she made. They are completely different. I suspect you are talking about the drop dumplings where they are like biscuits. She was born in 1910 and was raising a family by 1925, so I don't think she was substituting tortillas as they weren't readily available everywhere back then.
