PRESS RELEASE: JOHAN MARAIS PLEADS GUILTY IN CAIPHUS NYOKA MURDER CASE; TRIAL OF CO-ACCUSED SET TO BEGIN ON 18 NOVEMBER

In Benoni this week, 55 social justice activists are participating in the FHR-CWAO Labour Rights Week for Casual Worker Human Rights Defenders, with co-funding from the EU. Three Community Radio Stations from the Western Cape and Gauteng are participating.

State and non-state actors involved in the GBVF domain in Umthatha are gathering under the EU KPI State Actor initiative, with Jersey Farm Advice and Information Centre as our area partner. Participants include local CBOs such as TBHIV, DOJCD, SAPS, and others.

Communities are actively combatting gender based violence! 💪🏽💜 The FHR Gender Justice and Masibambisane teams are on the ground in Giyani, training GBV monitors to become catalysts of change and combat the scourge of GBV in their communities.

The Potters House for Women, in collaboration with the Foundation for Human Rights (FHR) and Lawyers Against Abuse (LvA), hosts another one of our State Actor Workshops in eLukwatini this week to strengthen local collaboration on tackling GBV.
