Introducing: Curro Baobab ♟️ 📍 Botswana 🇧🇼 ✨ What kind of difference can a committed educational chess advocate make? At Curro Baobab in Gaborone, Botswana, Vincent Masole has used chess to bring together critical thinking and social engagement in a fun and welcoming way. Mr. Masole is not only a FIDE School Instructor (SI), but he is also an International Arbiter (IA) and International Organizer (IO). Although he is very familiar with the world of competitive chess, he has built culture and community in his school through educational chess. "Chess in our school is mostly used to help kids improve skills like patience, decision making, anger management, critical thinking, respect, discipline, focus, creativity and many more needed (skills) in today's world". ♟ Curro Baobab was a recipient of the FIDE School Bronze award in 2025.
