Today we mark 14 years since the ratification of the Domestic Violence Prevention Act (3/2012).
Over these years, we have strengthened systems of protection, expanded awareness, and improved coordinated responses to support survivors and prevent violence. Each milestone reflects collective effort across institutions and communities.
As we reflect on the lessons learned, we remain committed to strengthening prevention, improving services, and addressing gaps to ensure more effective protection and support.
We move forward with continued dedication towards a Maldives where every family is safe, and where everyone can live free from violence.

Today we celebrate the dedication and impact of social workers around the world. Their work continues to bring communities together and inspire positive change.
This year’s theme, “Co-Building Hope and Harmony: A Harambee Call to Unite a Divided Society,” reminds us that change happens when we come together. Social workers play a vital role in connecting communities, uplifting voices, and building a more inclusive and hopeful future for all.
