PGMOL’s top referee Chris Kavanagh is having a nightmare of a game in Everton vs Liverpool.
1. Deliberately chose not to book Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch.
2. Booked Jordan Pickford for dissent, but not Dominik Szoboszlai despite him pointing in the referee’s face.
3. Failed to control the game, allowing players to crowd and confront each other.
4. Fell for players going down easily to win free-kicks.
5. Ndiaye brushed Szoboszlai’s hair — arguably more severe than Martínez’s incident — yet no action was taken.

@FPLFocal @calm_strategy Great account, does some very in-depth analysis without spamming stats to back every point.
You need an edge these days to get in Top 5k or better, and it’s good to see managers out there who still think outside the box.

Been years now so worth sharing. A very cool thing for a younger me doing work for fun and for free on here back then. Absolutely no need to go out of his way to send this when he did but very kind of him to do so and I’ll always remember that.

When I first started writing online it was a hobby I picked up in Med School. It think it was my third article I wrote for a Manchester City fan site eulogising Bernardo Silva’s then City career, as a fan, nudging him to stay that he ended up seeing & DM’d me on here. That encouraged me to continue posting and I doubled down on football work since. So many of the great experiences I’ve had were probably inspired by the work I did after Bernardo’s message. Such a magical footballer and a great person for reaching out at that time when I had a couple thousand followers if that. Always grateful for that.

@FPLScofield Funny to see Wieffer finally smash it. His p/90 numbers have been quite interesting all season, but limited mins/early subs/injuries has killed that momentum or any publicity
Being a MID also means DEFCON has to be a lock every game and if you play 60-80 mins thats tough.

When the 2026 World Cup was announced for the United States back in 2018, I told myself there was no way I’d miss it. I was going to be there in person, experiencing a World Cup on home soil and I know so many of you felt the exact same way.
Fast forward to now, and the ticket prices are completely astronomical. Outrageously unaffordable. What was supposed to be the dream of a lifetime has been priced out of reach for regular fans like me. I’m going to miss watching my country host the biggest event in sports… something I may never get to experience again in my lifetime.
Yes, they’re going to make money off this massive event on U.S. soil. But the greed has gone too far. It’s ruining the beautiful game and turning it into something only the wealthy can enjoy. A World Cup should be for everyone not just those who can drop thousands without blinking.
This is an absolute shame.
